Writers Retreat
Take time and space for yourself, in this idyllic Mediterranean setting, and let inspiration rise for your current creative project. Whether you are a first-time writer, or whether you have a number of novels "under your belt" already, we guarantee you will benefit from the peaceful environment of our Writers Retreat.
Make your choice from our five deluxe en suite bedrooms, all with writing desk and comfortable chair in place. Let us take care of you, with three good meals each day (brain food!), and a chance to refresh your thoughts at our in-house Bar in the evenings. There's even the option to hire bicycles, if you fancy a change of scenery and a breath of salty sea air.
Having published a handful of books between us in recent years, we have an interesting range of experience and skills that we are happy to share with you.
Our credentials:
Jan Larsson has the popular title ""Brave or Stupid"" to his name, which is selling particularly well as an e-book and audiobook. Having followed his first dream to sail around the world, Jan is now living his second dream as the host at his delightful B&B house in the charming small harbour-town of Marseillan, South of France.
Sara Verrall published her first book "Dream it, Do it …Why not?" in 2021 and has not stopped writing since! Learning from Jan's earlier experiences she too has e-books and audiobooks sitting alongside her entertaining paperbacks.
We have great reviews as hosts at "Rue Galilee B&B" and we want to extend the same welcome, with added extras, to our Writers Retreat guests.
Prices quoted are for staying in full board comfort, for seven days and nights, from Tuesday 18th March 2025. (Please see exact details below).
Every evening, before dinner, we will offer our own "Creativity Challenge", which is simply a brief half-hour writing exercise prompt, sat in the Rue Galilee In-house Bar. Designed to nudge alternative thinking and drawing on proven methods to stimulate our little grey cells, purely for fun. Non-accountable, and totally free.
Extra features, which are optional to book - at a rate of 100 euros per session - comprise:
Audiobook 1-2-1 coaching. An introductory "How to" for recording your own audiobook, with guidance and encouragement as well as practical tips. We have a professional microphone and recording suite set-up, and we can recommend the after-service of a friendly sound technician, too! You will leave with your own USB recording as a sampler to take you forwards.
Video recording suitable for your website presence. We offer 1-2-1 coaching and guidance, using advanced equipment to make an internet-ready mini-video, with high-quality sound, to represent you perfectly.
"Shape and Structure" guidance. If you have an overall idea for your book, but are struggling with just how to begin, we can sit down together for a 1-2-1 brainstorming session. Let me help you find the structure that works for your book. Trust me; I'm good at this and I'm happy to help unlock what you are holding inside... It can be a really fulfilling, creative exercise - and you'll walk away with a much clearer shape to the story you are ready to tell.
Website creation. We can guide you through the steps and stages of producing your own website, with suggestions for content as well as the technical background stuff. Learn how to manage it and enjoy it.
Please let us know if you would like any of these extra services when making your reservation.
Please also tell us if you have meat, fish or vegetarian preferences, so we can plan the week's meals accordingly.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day, and a home-cooked evening meal for 5 nights out of 7. The other two nights we are leaving free, so you can explore the delights of our little town.
Writers Retreat Bed and Board information:
Arriving 18th March 2025 and leaving 25th March 2025.
All prices shown below are for Double Occupancy, except for Brescou which is a Single room. If you book any of the other 4 rooms for single occupancy, we will give you a Rue Galilee voucher for 300€, to spend either on the coaching options listed or for a return visit to the B&B.

Meals will comprise:
Breakfast each day – choose from extensive buffet menu.
Light lunch each day – fresh soup, salad, pasta etc.
Home-cooked evening meal for 5 days out of 7 – menus to be agreed, in advance, when guests have confirmed their preferences.
40% deposit will be taken when guests make their reservations, with the balance payable one week before arrival.
Taxi pick-up and drop-off services can be pre-booked for Beziers Airport (35 euros), Montpellier Airport (100 euros) and Agde train station (20 euros). Prices quoted are for each journey.
